The Deceit of Busyness

She does as she always has going about her day, list in hand plans laid and much to accomplish.  Going there, doing that, being partaker of this function – are all the missions on her mind.  She feels good as she does all she needs to do at the end of her day she drops to bed in sheer exhaustion.  She wakes and is ready to do it all over again!   She has even given Jesus a place in her day! He has been given a few minutes in the morning, as she haphazardly reads from her devotional book and a couple of verses from the Bible, if time allows it.  Once the books have been closed, she starts HER day to do HER things, and prays here and there throughout – for things SHE wants.

She does not realize her day is Christ – less, for she is deceived by her busyness.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Col 3:17

And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.  But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42
